Insights: US trip

Just had a a very interesting session with a speaker from The Impact Center. He spoke about the Gender Intelligence. It analyses how men and women brains operate and think and how this affects their decision making and their orientation. Very interesting topic that I would like to read more about. Then we met with ladies representing EMILY'S List, which is a democrat organization, Women Campaign Fund/She Should Run a non-partisan organization and National Women Political Caucus, a multi-partisan organization. They all work in encouraging women to run for office and operate differently, whether by raising funds or raising awareness or identify women who have the skills to run for office and empower her to run elections. The following is all new to me: There is some sort of a pact between both Republican and Democrat Women candidates not to counter attack each other in elections campaigns. There is also a higher awareness in standing up to sexism towards women candidates running for office. In the US, there is something called the "Independent Expenditure" also called "Outstanding Spending" that is used to run negative ads/campaigns against opponents. The Law btw, considers this activity as an act of freedom of speech and is not wronged. Quota System is very debatable in the US, and if it is applied, it will not be addressed in favor of women, but rather in favor of different races existing in the US.
